Tailgate step

I have the geezer step, and like it. TG is a bit heavier but I manage w/o much trouble. I use a diy load bar to keep stuff from sliding up to the front of the bed.

I have the same AMP step and love it. The best part is you can use it with the tailgate up or down and even if you have a trailer attached. The factory step can only be used with the tail gate down. If there is anything hanging out over the tailgate or a trailer with a tall jack makes the factory step useless.

So I was thinking...with the newer style tailgate step with the pole embeded into the tailgate...
If there were two poles, one on each side that could be incorporated into a bed extender?
Maybe have some attachables?
In a truck with 6.5 foot box if you had two retractable poles come out of tailgate you could load up on 4x8 sheets of drywall and plywood and the poles would prevent it from sliding out of the box?

Well, I was a runner for about 25 years and I'm paying for it now. When I was truck shopping the two must have options were the step and the big gas tank. Nice thing about options, buy the ones you want and skip the rest.

tailgate step are an important items. sure like what gm did. If was truck looking now would be a
Denali just for the tailgate. Do wish fords dropped a little further down for a lower step up.
Had them since ford introduced (on 150 and 250). On a 14 GMC had, did not have one and missed
