I broke the plastic cover for my tailgate step. Wondering if someone has a part number or can direct me? Can you buy in pieces or is it the entire step assembly?

He said "plastic cover". Isn't that the part on top of the tailgate with the button to release the step? If not, what plastic piece?

Thanks. Sorry should have posted a pic. Not mine but need the plastic on back side of step. Looks like I need the whole step assembly which is ****ty!

The step has been in production for awhile.
Did you check the local junk yard or CL?

This is the part you need - part# 40602 (the second one for $58.05)
the piece priced at $28.47 is the slim plastic that runs along the inside edge of the tailgate. You will get a better price if you set up an account and make a dealer like Sunrise Ford in California your preferred dealer, Also when you log in there is a flat rate for shipping ($9.00 via FedEX IIRC)
