I'll try again by downloading the update again... maybe on a different thumbdrive. I may even try the FAT32 format instead of the exFAT like was stated to work in an earlier post.
MEM_ERR03 that popped up after I restarted the vehicle, as instructed from the screen.
The 3rd thumbdrive I've tried out. It's a 64GB

I just upgraded my 2016 from v2.2 to v2.3 via usb. Upgrade went smoothly
Adding....
This is for non-Nav, and using a 32gb Sandisk USB drive. I didn't even look at the format type - just took the USB out of the package and used it. Not counting download time for the file, the install in the truck cycled straight through to completion and took about 30 min. Yes, I left the truck running as recommended.

Mine won't update either. Tried downloading to a 64gb USB drive and nothing, bubkus, nada, just a stupid spinning ball and zero progress. Wifi updates are worthless as well.

What version Sync 3 did you previously have before the update? NAV or non-NAV?

Here's what I got when I tried it again when I got home. I also show which thumbdrive I'm using. This is the 3rd thumbdrive I've tried.

Or, did you Google the message and see what it says to do? I just did, and here is what it says:
Programming tips:
The USB flash drive must be 32GB formatted to exFAT.
Do not remove the USB flash drive from the media hub until the final installation message is displayed (non-Nav vehicles have two installation complete messages).
Perform a complete ignition cycle by turning the key off for 5 minutes (open/close driver’s door) which is critical for a successful installation.
If these tips are ineffective, perform a SYNC master reset (Settings ⇒ General ⇒ Master Reset), ignition OFF for 5 minutes, ignition ON, and insert the USB drive again to complete programming.
If the message is still present, no additional repairs should be attempted.
Engineering is aware and is currently investigating. Monitor OASIS for future updates.

Gotta ask, did you follow the directions and make that phone call as it tells you to?

"Please follow the following steps for this error to be resolved. Step one: Remove any USB devices plugged into the media hub and perform a master reset - https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...ter-reset.html
Step two: Perform a key cycle:
1. Turn the vehicle completely off. The vehicle engine should not be running, and the vehicle should not be in accessory mode. Many newer vehicles will keep the radio on, even when the car is turned off, until a door is opened.
2. Open the driver’s door and lock the door.
3. Close the driver’s door.
4. Wait five minutes and ensure the radio display turns off completely.
5. Restart the vehicle.
Step three: Plug in your flash drive with the SYNC 3 update files on it. The update should start automatically. Within a few minutes you'll receive a completion message. Do not remove your USB. The system will reboot (possibly more than once) and the update will continue. When SYNC displays a pop-up requesting to set up Automatic System Updates, please press "Ask Me Later." Approximately 10 minutes later, SYNC will display its final "Installation Complete" message and request you to remove your USB flash drive. You may remove it and turn your vehicle completely off for 5-10 minutes.
Note: During those 5-10 minutes, you can take your USB back to the computer and upload the xml file to your Owner account. Your account will then show the successful installation of version 2.2."
It didn't work for me. I tried it twice, just as written. I did notice the "version 2.2" typed in the instruction-? Maybe other people were having issues going to v2.2 before v2.3 was released.
She said this should work for both nav and non-nav units, I asked.
I'm working on uploading some videos to show them exactly what I'm seeing. I'll have to hit them up tomorrow since they are closed now.
This isn't fun anymore.

Not sure this is your issue but non-Navi systems require two downloads and removing usb stick after completing installation of all the files with the first download. You then place 2nd download on usb drive go through process again with luck success will be had .
