Ah, I see. Yeah, unfortunately I don't have any files other than the new updated ones. What's strange is there was no indication that anything was still updating. I guess I should have waited a little longer for some sort of confirmation screen. But everything looked updated and was operating as normal. No "system updating" message or anything. I didn't want to waste any more gas so I thought it was safe to pull the drive out.

I'm attempting to re-download the files and see if it will start the update process again. Before I would just get an error message when I inserted the USB drive and tried to restart the update. If the re-downloaded files don't work I think I'll try a master restart of sync. The navigation seems to be working correctly it's just I get that weird pop-up message. I've also noticed the message doesn't pop up if the truck has sat for a while (it didn't show up this morning when I started the truck for the first time). It only seems to appear if I restart the truck within a few minutes of shutting it off.

Acool was able to solve this and similar problems for many including myself. Start around page 74 post #734. You will probably need to message Acool and see if you get a response. His fix worked perfect for many. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/sync-...99837/index74/

You probably pulled update before complete and left a large file that didn't get deleted. Basically the update got corrupt. Acools fix replaces that file with a very small map file which will allow you to redo the update.

Interesting... Thanks, I'll check it out. In the meantime I've called several different numbers associated with Ford, Lincoln, and Map support and they have supposedly escalated the issue and will be getting back to me in a few days. I'm not holding my breath though...

I was able to get this resolved and thought I'd post an update just in case it's helpful to anyone who stumbles upon this in the future...

The number I called that seemed to be the most beneficial is actually a number for Lincoln, 800-521-4140. They escalated my issue and within a couple days I received an email from an 'In-Vehicle Technology Research Escalations Specialist". She emailed me a small file that I loaded onto a USB drive (along with my license file) that, apparently, erased the maps all together. It only took a few minutes for them to be deleted and I ended up with a black nav window and a "Navigation Fault" error message. I then reloaded my original map files onto the USB and just started the map installation process over. This time the installation seemed to go quicker than the first time I attempted it (maybe slightly less than an hour) and I did receive the final message indicating the installation was complete and that I could remove my USB drive. Thankfully everything seems to be operating normally and I no longer get the annoying pop-up message.

Even though it took several phone calls to various numbers, I'm thankful they were able to resolve the issue with a simple file sent via email.

I am having the EXACT same issue. What I think occurred is that within the "Vehicle" settings is a setting for "Auto Off" wherein the vehicle automatically turns itself off if idling too long without moving. Ford says to "keep the engine running during the installation process. Ford neglected to have the "auto off" feature (BUG) disabled automatically during the map software update. The instructions did not identify that the "auto off" feature be disabled much less where to find it.

I'm still waiting for FORD to make good on my $149 map update purchase. Although I have the the updated map installed, the voice command for navigation will not work at all. I've called FORD Customer Relations and SYNC Services at least 6 times and still no resolution. I'm currently waiting for a representative from FORD IVT to contact me. Waiting......

It is right in the vehicle installation instructions to turn off auto engine off feature and where it is located.

"NOTE: Some vehicles are equipped with an “Automatic Engine Shutdown” option and due to the length of time for the update process this feature should be Disabled. You can find this feature on the left hand cluster display (use left hand switch Control ➔ Settings ➔ Vehicle ➔ and uncheck the box ☐ next to “Auto Engine shutdown”).For more details, refer to your owners manual “Starting and Stopping the Engine” section for information on how to disable this feature."

I stand corrected. BUT..... This note precedes the instructions numbered 1-8. Very poor logistic placement as a "NOTE!" There should have been a warning such as:
"Before proceeding you must..." in BOLD RED to get the installers attention. I rest my case.

Just do a Factory Reset in your Sync. This happened to me when I updated my map to NA 119 . I lost all NAV commands. A fellow forum member sent me a message and said to do a factory reset....and that worked. All I had to do then was reprogram my radio stations.

They will make it right. It may take a couple days though. If you haven't already, call this number: 800-521-4140 and tell them your issue. It sounds like they will need to do the same thing for you that they did for me and email you a small file you can load onto your USB drive to wipe the incomplete map install. Once you've performed that operation you can turn off the auto off feature and reinstall your original map file. I was pleased with how they resolved the issue and, knock on wood, have had no issues since. Good luck!
