I would not say that, I had the APIM replaced in my 2017 Lariat about ago and they had to flash the ECU and the APIM. There was a software upgrade to the ECU would talk to the APIM.

I did the same - I have a 2018 Sync3 - I don't think there's anything newer for us. I think moving to 3.3 is for 2019's only.

Our APIM (MY 2018 and old) will not run 3.3 at this time. I think it's lacking the required space inorder to run the new O/S. I am looking at possibly replacing my APIM.
