That is why I use two cables. I can charge the phone with the data blocking cable and use factory nav, SYNC, or SIRI.

I did this:
-Settings
-Apple CarPlay Preferences
-Disable for my phone.

This way, it doesn't automatically launch every time I plug in my phone. If I want to turn it on for any reason....settings, Apple CarPlay Preferences, Enable.
