Arrow Sync 3 Android Auto Steering Wheel Answer Disconnect button not working

2018 F150 Platinum. I have had my truck for 2 years since new. Android auto has had minor glitches but usually worked great. Around January 2020, while connected by USB to Android Auto, on incoming calls I was unable to hear caller and they couldn't hear me. All steering wheel buttons worked with Android Auto. Tried new usb cables, (manufacturer and aftermarket). Tried clearing all data on android auto app, tried different phones, same problem. Took to dealer in March 2020, was told that I needed new APIM. Because of Covid-19 was not able to get installed until May 2020. New APIM fixed the incoming call issue but created the new issue of not being able to answer or disconnect phone calls using the steering wheel buttons. I have to use the touch screen which works. After taking to the dealer a total of 5 times, replacing the APIM twice, and the Media hub once, escalating to Ford Global Technical Assistance Center who were not a lot of help, (IE. try different phone cables, different phones, any other 2018 trucks having same issue, etc.), I was told that there is nothing that they can do.
(When not connected to Android Auto but only by bluetooth the steering wheel buttons function as they should).
I also called Ford directly and started a case.
So, I am left with the issue unresolved, and told that until there are enough people with the same problem, that my issue will not be addressed further.

On a $70K truck with less that 20k miles, I am quite disappointed that my trucks issue will not be taken care of until some time in the future, maybe.

Anyone else that uses Android auto, have problems with the answer disconnect buttons on their steering wheel not working, or have a possible course of action that will fix it?

I have the same issue with my 2019. Assumed it was an Android Auto issue. Do you have a fix? I'll ask the dealer next time I go in.

After 5 times to the dealer, still no fix. I was told to maybe join a Ford F150 forum to see if anyone else had been able to solve the problem.

Does it work when you say "Okay Google"? I'll test out the buttons on my 2018 and post the results tomorrow.

The voice button on the steering wheel triggers the Assistant as does just saying Hey/Okay Google. No issue there.

Found a Android Auto Support page that has people chatting about this. Of course Google was of no help...

So the switches work with Blue tooth as designed and not with Android Auto and you blame Ford? Android Auto takes over the Ford program that runs the radio, just like Car Play does. It is an AA problem not Sync or Ford.
