Swap F150 platinum door sills with F350 platinum illuminated door sills?

Nice mod... I wonder if they have an illuminated version for the Lariat?
That said, a little tough love. I would suggest improving your wiring a bit. Phone wire splices definitely aren't designed for what you're doing, and you've got conductor exposed. You really don't want to end up chasing some weird electrical issues thanks to an errant connection.

Hard to say; from memory I don't recall seeing any metal on the underside. I believe the wires just disappeared in under the plastic to do their magic, so I think it would be difficult to pop out and also would likely be difficult to get another one in. Maybe someone else who orders the part in the future can chime in and post a picture of the back side of the piece for you.

Funny you say that about the wiring...the only reason I had taken this picture was because I sent it to a more electrically inclined friend to see if he thought I should clean up the exposed conductor, which he recommended I do. So I did clean up that issue. As for the wire splices themselves, its only a small LED load so I'm not overly worried about them holding up.

One of your issues may be conductor size. Green is rated 19-26AWG... that wire is either 18 or 16. The electrically and physically best way would be to carefully remove a section of insulation from the "donor" wire, weave your wire in, solder it, then apply heat-shrink tape and shrink down. But, I'm a picky SOB.
Well, maybe I need to build a Lar-Platinum...
