Funny that Tvsjr has factory led headlights which I've been blinded by already. Also, I've been blinded by a couple 2014 f150s with factory HIDs. Mostly when going down choppy hilly roads.

Forgot to mention the main reason for going with the Supernova PerfectFit was the fact I didn't have to worry about modifying or replacing the dust covers. Everything fits neatly inside.

His reason for being upset is VALID. Look at the box those plugin's came in and look for "DOT approved". If they have that stamped on the box you should be good to go. If the box does not say that they are ILLEGAL for on road use and blind the -uck out of everyone coming the other way.

I haven`t seen an aftermarket led bulb yet that is DOT approved. Are there any?

I saw the first one just the other day and it was indeed an led. One of the vendors in this forum posted a link.

Sinoparcels from amazon. They go by other names too. I'll try to find a link. They are the same kind that Headlight Revolution sells. The LEDs used are small enough and well placed to properly mimic halogen placement.

Here is a pic of what they look like.

@Londart08XLT which GTR lighting bulb do you choose for your truck's low beam? does it fit in the headlight housing? Any modification on the weather rubber seal?

Thanks!

I've done a bunch of research on this as a self professed LED snob. The lumileds chip is the best LED chip right now for aftermarket LED headlights. The Supernovas are just rebranded and are sold at a premium on GTR's website. You can find the exact same headlight (made in china) under various other brand names. I got mine from NightEye (https://goo.gl/PE3DE3) I put these in my Anzo projectors and they are very good.

I will have to say though, that new Hikari Ultras that have come out (updated) this year are hands down the best light for the price. https://goo.gl/KW5jCb

I bought these for my 2016 Yukon's projector housings and it blew the supernovas out of the water.

This is by far (IMO) the best website that compares and shows LED headlights in an unbiased way.

There are so many fake reviews on Amazon and review sites that are misleading. This one has good quality data to show differences.

Bottom line:

- Look for lights that have Lumileds Luxeon Z ES chips or newer smaller CREE chips
- Look for bulbs that are rated 25 watts or higher
- Make sure the light can be re-aimed and rotated
- Use Amazon and Fakespot to grade and rule out fake reviews
- Don't pay more than $100
- 2+ year warranty
