Default Sunroof incident. What's my next move?

Lovely day, go to retract the pano and hear a "chunk" sound. Didn't retract. Got out and looked up top, driver side had dropped while passenger side was still even with roof/fixed panel. Eventually I pushed the whole panel down and then pressed the button to open/close. So I have it closed now but have no idea if it's broken or was just stuck and a little nervous to test it out and end up with it stuck open. Is there a way to check without opening? The pictures I've seen posted of plastic pieces broken don't make sense to me, I don't know where to look or if I could even be able to see without opening.

No warranty so I'm rightfully terrified of messing things up. Ordered the Krytox for the future, but any pointers on what to do now? Think something broke or the seal just got stuck? Not sure which way the odds favor.

ETA: I opened/closed it fine the day before this incident.

Or get an ESP to cover it as long as you plan on owning the truck.

It’s definitely broken, don’t open it again until you’re ready to fix it. That’s exactly what happened when mine brok. Mine has broken three times. 2/3 I got it shut, last time even the dealer couldn’t shut it and had to keep it inside for 2 weeks waiting for parts while I got a free rental. I got the ESP after the first time because I knew I had a bad moon roof.

Luckily the last time they replaced the entire moon roof(minus the glass). It sounds better then it ever did. Ford dealer told me they are only the third version of all the parts.

I don't understand what you're saying. I have a used truck that was new to me beyond the warranty miles. Your post isn't too helpful or relevant to my question. Almost reads like you are reveling in my truck problems.

You have to lube the seal frequently (the main one between the glass) or it will stick bad, then cause other things to fail. a little dilectric grease along the joint between the 2 go a long way to help prevent issues.
