summer road trip in USA

Hi Gents,

We are planning to do 2 weeks road trip from Canada Alberta to West or Middle USA with some camping some hoteling. What routes would you recommend?

I am thinking if we can start Yellowstone first then continue head south along highway 89 to saguaro national park or head west to LA, Las Vegas?

I am looking at this book now

Would you be kind to share some of your experience?

Thanks

Glacier National Park in Montana might be an option depending on the route you are taking to Yellowstone. Might even be on your way.

Thanks, yes Glacier National Park is excellent. We have been there 7 years ago, this time we like to go somewhere else

Glacier National Park is well worth it. The "Going-to-the-Sun Road" is a beautiful drive in Glacier Park. My wife and I drove it a couple of years ago in July. Here's a couple of pictures we took.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. Going-to-the-Sun Road is indeed very nice, but kind of challenging to some people. We were still a little bit scared. may revisit it in near future.

Didn't know that.

Grand Teton National Park I've heard is also a great place to visit. Haven't been there myself yet.

If you haven't seen the Grand Canyon, you will probably like that as well.

Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse, about 8 hours east of Yellowstone is pretty nice, but so is Yellowstone. I would suggest doing a guided tour of Yellowstone, It is so large you will never see half of what a guided tour will show you, plus on a bus, no trying to find parking in each area. GPS rarely, if ever worked on a cell phone too, no reception, so easy to get lost unless you take a map or have Nav in your truck. About 4 years ago we did the southern loop tour, 4 families on the bus, and it took 11 hours. Got some amazing pictures and memories from that!

This was the company we booked our tour through, they were awesome! Click Me

I too recommend the Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone combo. I did that a few years ago. The KOA in Yellowstone is one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever stayed at.
We stayed at the KOA in West Yellowstone. Easy access to tour either loop.
We stayed one final night at the KOA in Great Falls. This was a convenient stop on the way back to Edmonton.
