Default Sudden and Complete Brake Failure 2015 3.5 Eco

Truck is 3.5 years old with 33k miles. No previous brake issues whatsoever. Yesterday my wife drove 2 miles to pick up boat at ramp. After about a mile the low brake fluid light came on for the first time ever. Made it another mile to the boat ramp. We were extremely lucky that she set the emergency brake at the bottom of the ramp. We hauled the boat off the ramp and 200yds up the road. Brakes were completely gone, nothing, no brake pressure. Brake fluid still in the reservoir but below the minimum line by this time. We put in 2 full bottles of brake fluid. No leaks but the fluid disappeared as we pumped brakes. Master cylinder failure blowing fluid into the booster. Towed to dealership.

We were extremely fortunate the truck didn't roll down the ramp into the lake with my wife in it. Or go careening into something at speed with my family aboard with a 5k pound boat in tow. Complete and sudden brake failure is completely unacceptable and Ford has an ethical responsibility to make this right!

Glad no one was hurt.
I hope you have warranty of some kind.

Factory warranty hit 36 months last December. If I make enough noise will Ford help me out with warranty coverage for a premature and complete failure of the master cylinder?

6 months out of warranty, but still within the miles portion. My guess is that, if your dealer asks corporate for help, they may agree to cover the parts portion of the repair. Just a guess. Keep us posted and good luck!

I guess the moral of the story is that some dash warnings should be obeyed and not ignored!

Sounds like you lost a break line or at least had a damaged one. One of those critical systems that isn't going to function without fluid. Glad everyone is ok.

Couple of things:
-I am glad nobody was hurt or any property damaged. I will be devil's advocate here and tell you if that were to have happened, in my opinion your wife and/or you would not be without fault. If a low brake fluid light comes on and you ignore it...well... what can I say? Sounds like both your wife and then you (if you were told about the light and did nothing or you were the one that drove the boat up the ramp) did just that.
-I hope Ford takes care of you, but you are out of the warranty period so it is really not their obligation. Everything has a shelf life so to speak.
-Truck would hold on the ramp forever if in park.
-Again, I am glad nobody got hurt.
-Pay attention to your truck in the future. You have the ultimate liability to make sure it is safe for you, your family and others on the road.. Check the tires, brakes, safety systems and other maintainable items, regularly. Do NOT ignore warnings. If you don't do this, I don't imagine anyone else will do it for you.
-I hope this is a lesson for you and others.
