I got one of those over a year ago. If only I looked through my tackle box I could of saved $32! But its all good. I kinda like the BuiltRight release.

Very nice...

I just used a piece of heavy picture hanging wire I had in the junk drawer. wrapped the ends and sealed with electrical heat wrap.

If you have an extra black shoelace, that works real well and quiet too.

I could see getting the BuiltRight release if you drop the seat a couple times a week, but for someone like me who only wants occasional access back there, why pay $35 when a $1 part will work just fine?

Because you're supporting a small business that supports this forum. Small businesses that make quality products deserve recognition and need all the help they can get in today's "disposable" economy.

Amazingly stupid that Ford didn't engineer a release to begin with. Same goes with front parking sensors, IMHO.

While I agree with supporting small business if someone can make it them self why not? Especially if they didn't know the other existed.
I did my own quite a while back (before they part was being made) as well by drilling a hole in the gold pin and running a key ring through it. Would I pull it off just to support someone? Nope.
