Stupid cheap and easy rear seat release hack.

This is my first post here. I hope it is useful.

In my search for a stupid cheap rear seat release option my eyeballometer kept telling me the Eagle Claw #1 barrel swivel (with interlock snap) was a good place to start. So I snagged some from Academy ( or any sporting goods store) for 12 for maybe $3 dollars. I let my seat down and located an area on the release cylinder that didn't interfere with any springs and also would retain the snap. I turned the open end of the snap towards the rear of the cab and wiggled the hooked tip behind, down, and around the cylinder. I then used a pair of needle nose pliers to "snap" the snap securely around the cylinder. It was a perfect fit. I grabbed some old cordage which I looped around a headrest post, knotted through the swivel loop, and trimmed off the excess.

Done!

I can pull the cord and release my rear seat. It was cheap and easy and I still have 11 more swivels that I can go catch some fish with.

I will note the snap I used was rounded and not one of the angles snaps. If you would prefer a more "tactical" version there's a black ball bearing swivel snap and you could always use paracord lol.. That's actually what I plan to do later on :D. They also have a few colors if that's your thing.

Before you get geared and hyped up you might want to look at my post from yesterday. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/drive...change-429587/
It's a great idea but may not work in all instances.

I don't know anything about knurlling as there's none present on my truck (2015 XLT). But this should work someway in most cases.
