Default Strut Replacement

I have a 2015 Platinum with 75K miles. Today, I took my truck to replace the front struts with Bilstein 5100's and the mechanic told me that he doesn't recommend me installing them because it uses the old parts (springs and mounts) and it can cause problems. I know Bilsteins are very popular, so has anyone ran into any issues using them with the factory equipment already in place? To add on to the scenario, I already replaced the rear shocks with 5100's and figured since I did the front( mechanic said struts still look good though), I thought might as well do the front being my truck is almost 10 years old. Do people only replace the rear and leave the fronts stock? Any guidance/help is appreciated.

I think I understand his position, but your springs and mounts only have 75K on them, does not seem like a lot. Unlike when I did mine with Motorcraft full coil over replacements they had over 150K.

If the originals still look good, would you just leave them on and only have 5100's on the rear?

Forgot to say, I guess it all depends on how long you intend to keep it and what kind of ride you want. Not sure my springs really needed to go, but at the price I picked up the full coils it was a no brainier. Especially since I first was going to do the change out myself.

Appearance is not a good indicator in my opinion, of course if you see oil. But when I replaced mine at 150K, I could not believe how much better the ride was. Of course Ford states they are good for 100K I believe. I am sure your front will feel tighter with the new ones, but how much I dont know.
