Please check and advise"

Surprisingly they "Inspected, verified, and installed a new check valve. The part number is FL3Z-3A788-A which is a tube assembly .

Anyway it appears to be fixed and call me crazy , but my brakes feel a lot more responsive. I'm not sure if that vacuum system is all tied together, but my brakes feel much more responsive post fix....
I think they may be on the same vacuum system as the tech that looked at my truck said the IWE have a different vacuum system than it used to because of the turbos. And now that you say it my brakes have always been rather mushy, especially compared to the rental Focus I had when they looked at it. Those brakes were super firm and touchy.

Mine hadnt made the noise again since I had it in until this past week when it started up again but not as much as before yet.

My buddy, who has the same truck & same problem, was contacted by our Ford dealer and was told Ford had contacted them today. Apparently Ford has an idea as to what the cause of this problem is & I'm supposed to be hearing from the dealer tomorrow. I'll share what I can, when I get it.

I called down to the shop to ask what Ford came back with, and to say I'm less than impressed with the answer is an understatement. Ford apparently says it's the needle bearing (hub) and the dealership needs to "grease the living sh*t out of it".

Let us know if it fixes your issue when you take it for a spin. Thanks!

Thumps, squeaks, bumps, rattles, grinding and hums and any other unusual noises are generally caused by modifications if your truck didn't do it when it was new. These newer Ford trucks are generally pretty quiet outside of a little road noise depending on the model you have.

I'm joining this party....

So in November I had the same, REALLY loud noise, almost exclutivly when braking at slow speed, get under 20mph, and it would hummmmmm right to a stop. Sometimes when turning.

I thought it was noise in the brakes, it rarely happens when i'm moving... Reading this entire thread I am starting to think this is related... Please someone comment.

Someone else I know had an F-150 with an IWE issue, and you could hear it half engaging, and GRINDING, I'm not getting any grinding, screeching or clicking, just a loud humming I can feel in the pedal

Feels like brakes, Dealer turned the rotors, didnt' replace pads - noise is still there.

If you put it in 4-Hi and it still does it then it is likely something other than IWE. That seems to be the common practice shared here.

So what would you suggest is the problem on a truck that hasn't been modified, and WAS quiet when new? Do you really think it's a greasing issue?

This may sound strange but I once had one those annoying sounds. I got me a spray can of WD40 and I systematically started at the front underneath the front bumper and I sprayed WD40 one place at a time that looked like it may be a candidate for making noise. About 3 weeks late and 2 cans of WD40 I found it. I don't remember what it was specifically (10 years ago) but I fixed it what ever it was.
