Strange/bad place for the new entry keypad

You can intentionally lock your keys (well keyless fob anyway) in a Ford vehicle if you want. The first press of the lock button will alert you with a beep, the second press will lock the doors. So that's a scenario where you definitely don't want someone knowing your keypad code.

Do you actually use the keypad? I've had my truck for over a year and haven't used it a single time. I guess some folks like it, but I don't even know why Ford keeps putting these on their vehicles. It will probably go away once they use push button start.

I like the new placement as I think it looks a lot cleaner. I've used my key pad a lot more this winter to lock the truck while it's running if I'm warming it up or running into the gas station quick.

I use my keypad almost daily! One of my favorite features. Hide keys in the car while at gym, mountain biking, beach, any place where my keys could get in the way or damaged. Also nice to tell the dealer to lock the keys in the car so I can pick it up after hours.

Personally, I never ever let my keys leave my possession when I am away from home. There is a feeling of vulnerability that I prefer to avoid. Also, I have had cars broken into over the years, so the last thing I'd ever do is leave keys inside. Please don't tell me you leave them under the visor ha ha. Well, its good that its been a useful feature for you. Maybe the only time I can see myself using it is if I (or more likely my wife) accidentally lock the keys inside.

I noticed that they mounted it vertically on the door sill now, anyone else see any security concerns with that being higher and not guarded by your body that it's easy line of sight for would be thieves, etc? Not to mention will be a real PITA for lifted trucks for anyone shorter than 6' tall?
Over analyze much? Just sayin.....

It's vertical and flush in the door pillar on my sons Fusion, and you have to run your finger along it to light it up before you can use it. It looks a lot better/ classier than the one on my truck.

Perhaps, or I have experiences that lead me to be critical of such things. Guess its just easier for you to mock versus trying to understand someone else's point of view, kind of sad. Just sayin...
Back to my point, when I'm out fishing or hunting I prefer to leave my keys in my truck. All to easy to lose keys in water or out in the woods. With the keypad up high, it's more conspicuous that I am opening the truck with the keypad up high, as there isn't anything besides your hand to hide that sequence of buttons.
I guess when I order mine, in the future, will have to have more situational awareness and not expose my intentions.
