You don't have comprehensive coverage on your insurance? You went to Ford for pdr? Or is that estimate to replace? Repair?

No it's not surprising, dealerships charge more than if you went to a private aluminum certified shop.

Ya i have comp insurance but I'm a firm believer in only using insurance for a disaster. Yes I went to Ford first, repair not replace. I will be getting other quotes asap. Hoping for half of what Ford is charging.

Should look into paintless dent repair.

If it were me, and my deductible were less than the cost of the repair. I would consider it.

For some reason my tree stand and climbing sticks fell off a shelf in my garage last weekend. Put some solid dents in the hood, and fender, on my 2010. Cracked my windshield. It was already cracked, but it added another. Estimate was $1000. That's at my shop, where I'm going to repair and paint it myself because I'm am employee. Agent said it fell under comp, no surcharge for me, and my truck will be fixed.

1600 for pdr? If so that seems really high. I just had a small dent fixed from a pdr guy for $125
