Stop/start quick fix (according to my dealer)
Not sure if anyone got an easy fix yet on the forums lots of posts about it, but didn't come across it anywhere unless I missed it.
I have a delivery on a new truck coming, but quick fix dealer told me was to use the plug for the trailer hookup, if you have one (dummy hookup). He said because it thinks its towing it would keep the feature off. Unfortunately I don't know if all of them have some sort of hookup for trailers or not, thought it would be good to put this out there though.

I wouldn't think or hope that any dealer would ever suggest or provide a process that would permanently disable the auto start/stop feature on the 2.7L engine.
I also don't believe you will ever see Ford sanction any type of auto start/stop disable feature.
This vehicle's emissions and fuel mileage were certified to meet government standards using the auto start/stop feature.
Temporarily disabling this feature using the button on the dash if far different than permanently disabling it.
Ford actually has a very good document on the auto start /stop feature 12/7/15 - GSB0000050.

Basically using the trailer hookup...not sure if I can do it with the connector piece included but anything that can be plugged into it, it sounded like as long as it thought a trailer was there that it would disable the stop/start. My dealer sales guy mentioned it going over the plug connector to connect in between the truck and a trailer. Which was just so any gunk in the trailer connection wouldn't ruin my connection to the truck.
I was surprised he mentioned it, but perhaps it was the idea that people wanted the smaller engine better fuel economy and for some people they may want a way to permanently disable it, without actually modifying stock design. Anyway that I find very useful...I have to get the truck to test this feature in my area though. I may leave it enabled, but may use his idea if its too much of a problem.
