Stage 3 Motorsports Smoked Spyder headlight install!
9 Attachment(s)
Got these beauties in the mail today. Quality on them seems very good. I personally prefer the look of these over the Anzos. To me the tint on them is just right. Ordering from Stage 3 is very straight forward, I got a e-mails for each update on the processing/shipping of the order.
http://www.stage3motorsports.com/508...oked-Lens.html Stage 3 does a good job of explaining how to install headlights which can be found here. Out of the package the aim on the headlights was horrible one was up and one was down, but adjusting them was very easy. I don't know what to expect for daytime brightness,(plus they are tinted) but to be honest I thought they would be brighter. The daylight pictures were taken at 5pm with the truck facing West. The darker pictures were taken around 8:30 and the leds show up and look a lot better. At nighttime the leds look absolutely amazing as seen in the pictures. Overall I am very happy with the quality and looks of these headlights. |

Looks good. This is the first time I've seen these installed (other than ads). Are these switchbacks?

some morimoto XB fogs would look good with those ... well if the lights are off anyway. Once on they won't match well

Thanks for the info... Are the halos DRLs out of the box or are they parking lights only? When you get a chance, can you post some pics of the halos in bright light? Just wanted to see how "dim" they are in daylight...

Wow, I thought the halos weren't on in those first couple pics... Now I know what you mean when you say you expected them to be brighter.

Not bad, and a real improvement over stock. Think I still give a slight edge to the Anzo though.
|
Please drive it at night and report back.......Thanks you very much.........

The pic of the cut-off against the garage is razer sharp. I wonder if the glare above the cut-off line is from the chrome housings. Looks good Filter.

I love the look of these but man I just cannot stand the way the new LED headlights have that very distinct cutoff line. I drove a rental for work once that did that and found it very distracting. I have LED replacement bulbs in my reflector style headlihts on my Harley and I really like that setup. The color of LED reaches way out to light up signs but no cutoff line.

No actually they are not that bright. I didn't go after the really bright. I wanted more for the color of light to get rid of the tired old yellow that you see on so many motorcycle headlights. I wouldn't do it in my truck headllights. Fogs, sure. but not headlights.

They look great. Not a fan of projector light cut off, especially if you live in a hilly area. Wish i could afford stock led lights.
|
This isn't my first vehicle with projectors, I have grown to prefer them. They put the light where you need it and do a good job of it.
I have driven the truck in some pretty heavy rains this past week and I am happy to say no condensation in the lights at all. |
Glad you liked them and they worked out for you, I ordered the same ones from Stage 3, but I prefer the black housing option. Still looking for an upgrade on my head lights.
They look good on your truck though |

They come on with the parking lights. I was going to use forscan and set my parking lights so they act as DRLs. I am going to buy the switchback LED bulbs for the blinker, this will make it light up white instead of orange, but will switch to orange when blinking.
The first couple of pictures are of the lights on in daylight. |

Yeah, I have been wanting something different. Really want OEM LED's but for almost $1900 (SE LED housings) that wasn't going to happen.
Anzo's I really don't like the look. These having the square projector make it look better IMO. Downfall of these is the H1 high beam, but Ill look into modifying an H7 or other "brighter" bulb |

I ordered HID's
From what I read the general consensus was LED's are not the best for Projectors. Saw some pics and videos and decided to do the HID's |
