Yes, the 5.0L has Sport Mode also and they are all awesome with it engaged. It basically changes the shift points so you shift at a higher RPM. Gives the truck more *****.

It does way more than that. It also changes the waste gate and boost control. Try this: In normal mode take off from a light like you normally would. At some point while still in 1st or 2nd put it into Sport mode without moving the gas pedal. If you have the gear indicator on the dash turned on before you do it you'll see it that lurches forward without ever changing gears. It is quite impressive. Without the CAFE standards in play this is how Ford would have programmed this thing to run all the time.

Is this normal? I have the 3.5EB by the way
Mine up shifts into 6th in sport mode somewhere around 75, but only after being there for a little bit without any appreciable acceleration.

You guys shoulda seen me on my way home last night with sport mode on- smokin everyone in sight with ease! Felt like a 10 yr old on Christmas morning haha
So I decided to try my first burnout with this truck , had sport mode on, traction control off, foot on brake and gave throttle about 1500 rpms , then let it rip! Lit them tires up I can't believe the power this thing has

I will give it a go again and see if i can get it to shift into 6th. i tried lifting off the gas but still wanted to stay there in 5th. It does increase performance and acceleration and is impressive...kinda wish it would just go ahead and upshift when you get to cruising speed and let off the throttle tho. Thanks for the responses, at least I know it aint f'd up!
