First thing I do when I start my truck, put it in sport mode. I mostly drive it in manual/paddle shift! When I get lazy I put it in drive but always with sport mode activated.
Pick up trucks are boring to begin with, especially with slush box tranny’s, at least the sport mode provides a little fun…IMO!

Unlike a lot of mode features which make very subtle changes, I find sport mode to be a dramatic difference from regular mode. It's like having a completely different drive train. I love it, although I use it pretty sparingly.
It definitely affects fuel economy under city or low speed driving, but I haven't determined exactly how much. For me it seems to be around 1-2 mpg in mixed driving.

I've had my truck for a little over a year now and just recently started playing around with sport mode. ( I pretty much forgot it was even there) I can't believe how much more responsive the truck is when it's engaged.
Does anybody run around in sport mode all the time? If so, does it affect your gas mileage much?

I only use it when I need to drive aggressively. I get on this particular entrance ramp every day that is way to short. In my 07 5.4 I've pulled off to avoid getting smashed into.
In my boost I smash it and keep it in sport mode that stretch of interstate because early in the AM even the slow lane can average 80.
