Speedometer Testing

I am fixing to do a level lift and get 275 65 20 (34" Tire) KO2's put on and I was just paying around checking the speedometer.

The analog in the truck is dead on the digital gauge.

There was a few times you could tell the gps took a sec to catch up to the truck readout. Pretty much dead on though.

Pretty awesome that it's dead on. I'm just hoping the speedometer apps I downloaded for free are accurate since that's what I set my speedo to with the Hypertec.

Speaking of, if you are getting the Hypertec to calibrate your speedo, start at about 32.75 and see where that puts you. Setting it to the actual size of my tires (275/65/20) had it way off.

Thanks for the tip. Where did you get your Hypertec from?

Looks like they are 229 no matter where I look...

autoanything.com

I signed up for the website (email) and got an email immediately with a code for 15 or 20% off orders over $199. The email also said to call the sales department for other deals they can't offer online. Might be worth looking into, especially if you find something else you want. I thought about buying a sunshade but bought the AVS vent visors. That was a bust. I sent pictures and a video to autoanything. They really cared and within a day I received a phone call telling me they refunded my card (they did) and authorized a field termination, meaning I didn't have to send them back. IMO they went above and beyond expected customer service. I was willing to ship them back. In fact, I was expecting a "you installed them wrong".

I think $229 is the standard rate every where I was looking as well.

I guess you are still enjoying your KO2 tires 275 65 20? I just called the local tire shop and they are going match 4wheelparts on the tires at 274.99 each. Just trying to decide on the lift first or tires first...

I see some guys posting on here that the Duratrac tires are alot lighter than the KO2's... I don't know where they are getting there info. Because all the specs online show the tires being the same weight??? Comparing apples to apples (size to size).

When I researched mine I just looked up various sizes of KO2s. The 275/60, 275/65, 285/65 compared to the Hankook Dynapro ATM I was running. The Hankook weighed 42lbs. The KO2s came in at 55/57/61. Not a huge jump in weight from 33 to 34 so I chose the 34s.

I love the tires. From the looks of them you wouldn't think they would ride well or ride quiet, but I drive to work with the windows down on the highway and its smooth and the noise seems normal. They also look awesome.

I just looked up my invoice. My tires were $1395 installed and with the Refund/Replacement road hazard warranty. It says $300 even per tire for 275/65/20. Looks like you're saving at least $100. Just make sure they don't charge you the standard $2.50 per tire disposal fee if you are keeping your current tires. I sold mine to a friend for $500.
