Default SOS! Rear Axle Rolled Forward..

So placing the rear blocks in the back and thought I had the frame jacked securely but as I lowered rear axle down to give room for blocks it slipped slightly and rolled forward and now it’s all out of align in the back ... what’s my best way to approach getting it lined back up and put together?????

ill post a pic for how bad it is soon.

First you have to make sure the truck is stable so it won't move.

The rear axle will have to be moved forward while at the same time allowing the drive shaft to fully insert back into the transmission end until the rear axle is aligned so you can attach the leaf springs.

The back right side is rolled the most forward where you can’t get the u bolts lined back up.. I’ve never had this happen before so I’m at a loss

You might have to separate the drive shaft U-joint from the rear differential if things are bound up.

Edit: If you do, be sure to mark everything so it goes back together the same as it was.

Much easier on a lift but you can do it there. Another person to help would be beneficial. Do you know anyone with a mechanic background to help you?

i can probably get a guy we know to come help. I’m definitely not as mechanically inclined as some folks but have done some small lifts and things before. But clearly messed up this time on something I figured would take me an hour

so essentially need to get drive shaft back in the transmission and get it rolled back. May need to get it to a guys shop ASAP and fix anything that’s buggered up up

You could try chalking the front tires so the truck won't roll back anymore. Jack it up by the receiver hitch to get it up off the axel. Then with a helper you'll need to put the transmission in neutral so you can roll the rear end back while guiding the driveshaft back in.
