Someone stole my skid plate???
So I was changing my oil this morning when suddenly I realized my skid plate was gone. At first I thought maybe it fell off somehow but whoever took it decided to leave one bolt hanging. I have no idea where or when this happened?

i find it funny thinking about a thief sneaking into one's drive way and sliding under a truck to steal a skid plate and after getting it off starting to put the bolts back, getting one in and remembering he's stealing it and doesn't have to put the bolts back.

Yeah the whole thing is weird. The truck has been into Ford a couple of times for warranty work but not for anything that would require the removal of the plate. I would have thought maybe the bolts came loose and it fell off but there is the one bolt hanging?

one time my dad woke up to the police knocking on the door.
Police: "Mr. Uzikadui'sDad, your truck was involved in an accident and police chase"
MyDad: "WHAT? WHERE IS IT? HOW BAD IS IT? HOW WAS IT STOLEN?"
Police: "It's in your driveway... do you know where your keys are?"
MyDad: "I keep them in this basket by the TV... and both sets are right here"
Police: "Mr. Uzikadui'sDad, I can believe someone stole your vehicle. I can believe that person got into an accident with it and tried to out run the officer who witnessed it. I can even believe that this person parked the truck back in your drive way... what i cannot believe is that a thief put your keys back in your basket by your TV after that... do you have any son's or daughters?"
and that's the story of by brother's first time driving on the road, first accident, first of many tickets, and the last time my dad kept his keys in a basket by the door.
i would think it would be a dealer forgetting to put it back on (maybe intentionally if it didn't even need to come off?) or a kid thinking it would make a good skateboard ramp over theft, but who knows.
