So I was lied to by my salesman

Can't say that sucks because I think you actually made out. I did a lot of research before I picked one of the two and the 2.7 suited my needs more. I even came from the 13 bigger engine eco to the 18 smaller engine eco and couldn't be happier.

Perhaps you should consider looking again and determine, for yourself, what engine your truck has. If you look for more than 5 seconds, you might even find the emission sticker that indicates what engine might be in there.
BTW Echo makes outdoor power equipment and I don't believe they make engines for Ford.

Hey, we went from 5.4L to 3.5 to 2.7.... imagine the MPGs on a turbo boosted 30cc 2 stroke motor. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Those aren't stats. This is the 2015+ forum, why are we going back to 2011?
The 2.7TT owes everything to the 3.5TT as it paved the way. Ford has learned a great deal since introducing the 3.5TT and put everything they learned into the 2.7TT which is why it's been a pretty good engine right out of the gate.. The Gen II 3.5TT has been very good since it's introduction because what they learned since the original introduction of the Gen I 3.5TT. The 3.5TT in the current gen trucks has been a good engine. IMO it's been as reliable as the 2.7TT
Stats anyone?
OP: Your recourse is going back to the dealer and talking to the GM . It's the only way this can be made right.

Nit picking?
I'm talking about today, not 2011. You're going to compare todays engine(s) against one that's 9 years old now?
Stats? You don't have any. Why would you just pull some out of your ***? Oh, I read it on the forum, on the internet.
C'mon man.

Tell me about it, dude from the Ford dealer I got my 15 from gave me the map sd card for my GPS that I don't have on my Ford Touch head unit. Plus I had to figure out on my own that all 15 and up F150s came with the trans cooler, and Sports mode (all thanks to this forum) before I purchased the vehicle from them. Fortunately I knew I was getting a 2.7 EB. Definitely need to do your due diligence.

I can see you failed to read the OP's post. He was looking at a 2015, which if he got one with the 3.5 that he wanted would be the same 3.5 that came in the 2011. Whatever dude. You are one of those on this forum always looking to argue over BS, so stick it.

Hold my beer
I'll give you credit for sharing your experience knowing you'd take loads of lashings. I'd still have my sucker in the sand and would take that to my grave.
