Smartphone app for remote start? Is there one?
Is there an app that enables you to start your truck from your phone (iPhone or Android).
This feature is available on my 2014 Silverado and I find it very useful, on a daily basis (winter or summer).
I see the Ford Remote Access - Custom Accessories
available in the App store, however last update was in December of 2013.

I guess GM is the only one giving these for free; for the first 5 years (not sure if it transferable to the next owner within the 5 years or not). RAM wants $15/month for the same service

Yeah it exists. A guy I work with has one on his plat. U gotta buy the receiver module and get it installed, then pay annually for the app.
In the positive side, his works amazingly!!! As long as you have cell service, you can start your truck! You can even check then temps, runtime, and settings, like locks etc.
It's pricey though. I've heard around $400-500 for the module and around $100/year for the app.

Happy new owner
I bought the Remote Start for smartphones from the dealer after buying the truck. I have a 2013 XLT but I imagine most of its the same ****, I paid roughly $600 CAN for all the parts and I pay $50/yr for the subscription. I did the install myself and was easy as pie but had to take it to the dealer to get them to activate the cellular stuff.
