Sirius Travel Link - Sirius canceled before the 5 years was up
#11
I wonder if I will run into issues when my 6 months of free Sirius is up. I won't renew it, I rarely listen to it, mostly USB or local Sports talk radio anyways. With my luck, it will quit working!

Sirius ranks right up there as one of the most difficult companies to deal with, in terms of customer service on ANY issues. You can't call them and get them to understand even the simplest of issues. Absolutely horrible.

Well.... the Music was expired on my 16 Lariat... While Travel was working (5 year plan)... I converted my now-retired Cadillac XM Music to the Sirius Music in my F150 to get that working again... in the process, Sirius converted the Travel Link to a 3 month... which eventually expired bring it to my attention...
I called Sirius to get TL re-enabled because they accidentally deleted it, and they told me I had to take it to Ford Dealer to to do that.
Ford told me they tried several times without my truck in their possession to fix, to no avail.. so they had me make a service call and bring my truck to the dealership, stating they had to have my truck in their possession to do it... This caused a "Diagnostic" Charge for a Non Warranty Item, of $140... and they still didn't get it to resubscribe the 5 year plan.
So.. now I am out $140, and Travel Link still doesn't work... ... ... I would have been better off just to Pay Sirius for the Travel Link.
Sirius told the Ford Dealer, that I have to call them to re-enable the subscription.. LOL... I've already been there!
So.. now is is a mission point - it cam with 5 years, I should get the remainder.. the game begins.

Update:
I made a few more calls to Sirius, speaking with agents... eventually, got a Supervisor, who "escalated" the issue... Set up a Temporary link for Traffic, while Corporate resolves.
I got a call today from a Corporate Supervisor. We discussed at length how my 5-year got disconnected... now - I haven't installed it yet, but she sent me a link to my phone that is supposed to put my 5 year Traffic and Travel back. I also received an email stating the same thing.
If this happens to you - don't give up... just continue to call Sirius, untill they respond.
It shouldn't be this hard - - but it is doable.

Whenever you call Sirius make sure and first thing ask to speak to someone in the USA. I called in to cancel the music service on mine before it renewed and specifically told the not in the USA person just the music not the travel link. Guess what on the way to work I noticed I didn't have the traffic flow colors and checked my subscription, yep got shut off too. It took almost an hour for someone to correct her mistake, for the hassle they gave me an extra year of travel link.

I swapped my apim to get HD radio. I called and got my Sirus active on the swapped apim. I later realized the Travel Link didn't activate on my '17. Can't wait to see how this will turn out.

And guess what us Canadians get. Absolutely nothing. 6 months of Sirius radio, that's is. No travel link at all.
Did the whole run around with them and got the same thing, call Ford, call Sirius, call dealer, call Sirius etc. They all blame each other for it, but in the end the travel link deal is only for US.
I also got you can add it for a certain amount per month, but you have to pay full price for radio service. Who the hell would pay their full price for the service. Especially as we don't even get a free trial to see if it's any good.
