Side Body Protection

Just picked my new Lariat yesterday (supercrew). I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for after market items that you can put on the doors to prevent dings and dents from other doors, grocery carts, etc.

A good pair of walking shoes!

Got my first door ding 36 hours after driving it home... c'est la vie.

I just usually park way out in the lot. Anything you stick on the side will keep you from having a dented door, but you'll have some goofy looking plastic piece on the door which will cause the paint to look different should you pull it off. Plus, when that gets beat up it starts to look bad too. I'm unaware of any company making those sacrificial strips, or any manufacturers still putting them on their cars.

I didn't get my first one 'til about 6 months after I got it.

I park away because of all the input above. My 18 year old Saab has not one door ding, and that is why.

Congrats on the nice new truck.
Several have said it, park far out in the lot. There are just too many jerks that could care less about you nice truck. Park next to a beat up old car or truck with your new one will almost guarantee a ding.

I just leave someone to stand guard by my truck holding a baseball bat with 9" nails driven through... has worked wonderfully for 30 years!

Or... get some 2" Vinyl Strips.. Black or Chrome, and stuck them along the bottom of your doors.

Seems like even if you park in no mans land, some DB with 5’ long, 600 pound doors will park right next to you. Can’t be avoided! I just have the PDR guy come out to our house once a year and make the dings go away on both of our cars! People have no respect for others stuff!

Depending on how far your step rails stick out they might help prevent some dings.
