Fair enough I guess. I really don't consider it too old school because it's still an over head cam engine. Push rod engines are more old school in my opinion, however some of Ford's competition still uses push rod/ two valve cylinder engines and make the same power/achieve the same fuel economy too. Without all the extra high dollar maintenance items that Ford uses. Sometimes over complicating isn't always the best. Haha but whatever you like. It's your money!
Its a 2V, old school engine. Nothing wrong with it and you're right, it probably is the most reliable and will probably last the longest.[/QUOTE]

You're right. Lol! I apologize. I just couldn't help myself because I got rubbed the wrong way A MANY times on this forum by a lot of Hating.
And, real talk, I know it's not even upgrade in the real world unless we're on dirt. I wanna say it's a lateral transfer. That's kinda why I feel like It's a "side step" move to escape all this, lol.
Thanks you guys for positive comments.

Aside from all the drama...I'd take the 2013 Raptor over the 2017 XLT any day of the week.
My 2013 fully equipped FX4 still looks and runs like new!
Newer is not always better!

The eco vs v8 crap does get tiring when threads go downhill, but there are still a lot of cool car guys on here. Dont let a few bad cookies ruin the whole experience for you.

You probably solicited the "haters" on here with your post.
Yes, theres plenty of them... but theres also plenty of folks who would also agree with your choice to make this change.
Congrats on the Raptor - its a nice truck.

To each his own. I love my 17 XLT and wouldn't have a Raptor if you gave it to me. It would immediately go to Carmax and be sold. The Raptor just doesn't do what I need a truck to do.

I can't hate on you. Well done and congrats! When looking at 2018's I had to force myself not to sit in any raptors, new or used. Enjoy that thing!!

I sold my 13 Race Red Raptor a couple of years ago....huge mistake. Wish I had it back. I sold it with only 7K miles on the clock. Traded it for an 15 F350.
I would trade my current 16 F150 XLT back for it in a heartbeat.
Congrats on your score! Nicely done!
