Is this something I could re-do/have done down the road if the installers can't figure it out the first go around ? I'm handy enough that I could probably figure it out, just don't have much time to mess with it right now.

I gutted all the installers wiring, it was horrible

I then ran a power wire to a 3 hole accessory outlet in the bed and a another wire for the cap's third brake light

Ground was short and done near the outlet panel

I have a dual row LED strip lights in my cap, which are tied into the 3 hole outlet......LEDs draw next to nothing, so I can have the lights on, whether the truck is running or not

Two Streamlight flashlights are also docked in the bracket I fabbed up

I've had my 100XR since November and can't remember water or snow ever coming in when opening the rear glass. If there is a significant amount of snow I usually clear it before opening, but rain and small amounts of snow run off the glass and then follow the outside edge of the weather stripping until it exits on the body above the tail lights. You can see the weather stripping just below the hinges in the picture

I notice pics of ARE caps have 6 clamps while my Leer has 4. Is this common?

These are pretty nice, got a set last week, but have to figure out how I want to mount them. Thinking of getting two aluminum strips and securing them to the top of the window frame and attaching these to the strips.
Thanks for the link. I've been thinking about doing this. I don't really spend a lot of time in my cap at night, but that looks like a nice kit. The bed lighting combo of the 2016 SCREW bed lights and the ARE door light are quite an improvement over my old 2006 SCAB's Century cap.

I appreciate reading all the inputs. I all leaning towards Leer right now but ARE is still a contender.

Thanks HawkCO! I've been having problems with my Leer DCC cap, and it's been back to the dealer twice for the issue of water coming in when the door is opened. Doesn't matter if I clear off the snow and or use my hand to swipe the water away, when I open the door it now comes in the left top corner either on my tailgate or into the bed onto my equipment. So after contacting my dealer and asking about the fiberglass 100 series contractor cap, I've been told the fiberglass will leak the same way???!!!

The 100xL is 1899 here. Then add options. There is a coupon to get free carpet headliner. Mine is going to be about 2100 with tilt down glass and remote lock.
