could be different from dealer to dealer based on their relationship with the manufacturer. I've been doing business with my guy since 08', but they didn't start selling ARE's until like 11' or 12'. Anyway, I see a ton of trucks and plenty of campers at work and options aside I couldn't really the difference between the brands, and the prices are basically a push so I took my dealers advice. Really pleased with the results.

Last night I submitted a quote request through ARE for pretty much everything that you have minus the racks. I added the remote lock, the fold-down sliding front window, the vented side windows, and double LED strips with a switch. I'll probably get a response today.
I've looked at a lot of the pictures on this thread, and the ARE Z series has the nicest appearance IMO. Leer is a close second though.

A few more pics. I spent around 2600 otd for this topper.

I've been following this thread and am amazed that the ARE's are going so much lower than I'm getting quoted for. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and have had half a dozen quotes from ARE dealers in a couple hour radius and the standard starting price for the Z series without even talking options has been as low as $2300 to as high as $3000...again, no options.
I've also seen that the ARE dealers in my area don't seem to be all that great with customer service where the Leer guys seem to be more receptive.
Kinda frustrating when originally I wanted an ARE but hate seeming like I'm overpaying.

I think ARE, Leer, Jason, and Century are all made in Elkhart, IN - RV capital of the world. Could be more. I don't know.

I started with a Leer 100XR, about $1600, then added options ~~ Removable slider front window ~ Windoor/Slider windows on the driver and passenger side ~ Carpet Headliner ~ Tailgate weather seal ~ Leer twist handle kit (for the rear door). Ended up about $2300 after installation. ~~ I had a 12v accessory plugin that I took out of my last topper and they wired that up for me also, along with three LED lite strips that I never got installed on my last topper. A short one above each side window and along one across the back above the door. Plenty of lite and each strip has its own switch. ~~ Put my rubber bed mat from my last (2010 F150/8ft bed) in my '15' (6.5 bed). Scored a shallow cut across the mat 1 1/2' from the end and folded it up so it protects the front of the box. Worked out real well. ~ Installed two Swingcase boxes. ~~ Next project is to make a tailgate mat. Found a boat carpet remnant at the carpet store so as soon as the weather warms I'll fix that. ~~ Will try and get a nite pic and some inside pics. ~~~ I should mention that Leer finally got their act together, all the handles turn the same direction and also the locks, really nice this time. The side handles are all keyed the same. ~~~ I'm not real tall so I did add OEM box sidesteps and also bought one of those steps that fits over the wheel.
