Default Should I have the dealer prep the truck prior to delivery?

My new truck will be in soon. I am debating about accepting the truck "unprepped" with all the factory covers and plastics intact. My concern is that a careless tech will scratch or damage it. On the other hand, if I accept it with the truck having a good portion covered in protective plastic, there could be issues that are underneath that cannot be seen until after I buy it and take it home to detail.

What would you guys recommend?

Depending on the dealer and your rapport with them, you could always ask them to be present for the prep. Sucks, but damage is going to happen with time.

Have them prep as usual. Inspect it, accept it or reject it.

I put in my sales contract that no power tools would be used during prep, to include buffing or polishing equipment.

Have them inspect for you and don't let them wash if you are concerned about damage to your truck. You also do a thorough inspection after receipt before you leave the lot, peace of mind for you.

Do you also tell the service department they can't use pneumatic tools when servicing your truck?

I just picked up mine a few weeks ago, they washed it nice before giving me the keys. I think they know the deal.....
