^ Werd
Also, don't use a wrench when tightening the Stubby. Scratched my first one up trying to get it tight.

Autozone sells universal antenna kits, from 1" stubby all the way up. Can get a kit with 3 changeable sizes for under $10.

I tried the $25 Cravenspeed stubby antenna from Amazon. It looked awesome, but the reception was poor. I live about 20 min north of Fort Worth. I might try cutting my factory one like post #2.

For reference, I live in Spring, just north of Houston & got to about Huntsville before I got fuzzy enough to switch to USB/Sirius.
I pretty much only listen to FM in the morning, for the local morning show, so the Stubby was more of a cosmetic change for me.

I currently stay in Spring too. I was in Huntsville/New Waverly about 3 weeks ago and didn't lose any reception.

Heres what I got: https://www.amazon.com/Steadfast-Aut...+14%22+antenna

I also travel thru Anahuac/Winnie all the way thru Beaumont/Orange routinely. I only have trouble with one station out of 8. All I listen to is FM anyways.

^ 94.5 was solid until about the Sam Houston statue on I45.
Otherwise, my usual driving is between Spring & Bush airport.

I went with this one, from Amazon. 21" no perceivable recieption loss at all. No scraping the garage anymore. Win win!

I've used the Cravenspeed 50 cal stubby antenna and never suffered any reduction in reception.
