Seat too hi
 

So, A few weeks in now and I still think the seats are too high. (The whole truck is ridiculously high, but that's a different thread to come)

Is there an easy-ish way to low it? Even an inch would be great. I expect not.

And since y'all will be incredulous and ask, I'm 6'3, fair amount in my torso, and yes, I fit fine but like sitting lower.

You uh... have it on the lowest setting now?

My seat feels a little high as well. I have an XL so it's basic sport seats. I understand the 10-way power seats of the higher trims will go down lower than the basic non-power seats. I think I'm going to try and replace mine with the 10-way power seat at least on the drivers side.

Of course! The power seat has what I will call "front elevation" and "rear elevation" controls.
If I could get the rear lower that would be good, as I like the front higher typically.
And it might be helpful, as I'm not sure how many different seats you can get in these trucke...mine has the buckets that come with the Lead Foot Gray sport edition package, with the center console and floor mounted 'shifter', (it's an auto guys, LOL)

I thought it felt too high at the dealership, and have thought so most days, But I just took my 08 GMS Sierra All Terrain out for a drive, and yea, it's waaaay better. (Rides way better too, and handles better as well, but again, thats for another thread some day)
Right now I'm just trying to hit the low hanging easy to fix issues like the horrendous headlights, the cloth seats (I switched to leather) and meh stereo.

And you bought this truck WHY???? Not to be harsh, but with all those short-comings bugging you AFTER the sale, did you even bother driving it for a few miles before dropping $45-50 large? Sounds like you might have been better off buying a 10 year old GM....IJS.

maybe it wasn't a deal breaker and he is looking for solutions that maybe others have tried to fix it

yea I test drove it before. And of the options it was a great product.
(to be clear, and it might annoy some here, I'm not a " Ford guy". I've owned a lot of different manufacturers cars and trucks. Variety is the spice, or something like that.
This truck replaces a GMC, which was good....and bad. bad enough that I eliminated GM form the search. I eliminated Nissan because I didn't like the way they look, or the interiors, and felt tehir product design was old and not up to date. Honda doesn't make anything that can tow 10K. And Toyota is reliable, but also old tech.
That left Ford and Ram. The Fords are mid cycle. Thats good, as there is history available and they've worked out bugs, hopefully. The Rams are new. Strike against. Rams ride great. And they have a better interior. But it's V8....been there did that, didn't get the MPGs. And that killer 12" costs big $ by the time you get it optioned for what you need.

That left Ford.

I fill the bed with tools, use a rack for lumber and tow and enclosed race car trailer, so thats a truck. I don't go off road much if ever, and it's a pavement queen as a DD. Ideally I'd want it to be comfortable not oversprung, handle well AND be able to tow. Thats tough as the goals are in conflict with each other to a degree.

Lets face it, this forum is a great source, but it's not a reflection of most F-150 owners. Soooo....most trucks are built way too high for 90% of the actual use they will see, IMO. Somethings are eeasy to change. Some aren't. I can't make a 10 yr old GMC more reliable....it's been a disappointment since the early days. Too many failures at too low mileage.
I can't change the drivetrain. I can't change the body.
Plus the Ford drivetrain is the best in the industry. Ford has an aluminum body and I respect that. To me, Ford has a REAL industry leading product.

But...it's far from perfect. I don't like the seating position..but it's close. I figured I'd see of there were some known tricks to make it better.

Lots of guys buy the truck and jack it up and slap new tires on it right away, nobody seems to say "If you don't like it, why'd you buy it?" ;)

So, I'm looking for ways to fine tune a good truck to me and make it great.
(And while some of you would say, "Just buy a Raptor/Lariat/Limited" etc to get what I wanted, I don't have that kind of $$$ to just order what I want or buy expensive trucks every two years. So I try and figure out the niggles.)
