School me on the 5.0
i have done some wrenching in my day but admit I know very little about the engine in my truck a 5.0. It’s a 2017.
A couple of questions. I know it has 4 valves per cylinder but how? 2 overhead cams? 4 overhead cams? Cam in the block like a traditional V8?
Direct or indirect injection?
I am pretty sure it’s an aluminum block and heads. Does it have steel sleeved cylinders?
Egr or non egr?
Thanks in advance for the answers and any other info I should know.

I originally posted something different but deleted it but the post above ragged me off a little. Would the owners manual say how the block is made. I tried a search on this board but really didn’t find the info I needed.
Bought the truck with zero research? We’ve owned maybe 12 Ford trucks over the years at work. The last being a 2014 with a 5.0. I’ve also got a co worker who has owned Fords and owns a 2015 now.
Nothing worse than someone that tries to make a poster feel small and stupid. Yes the same questions gets asked over and over, do not read them or waste your time responding.

DOHC, Aluminum block and heads, composite intake. See the cutaway in the pic, shows the 2 overhead cams. Pics of the heads also

The coyote uses 4 overhead cams as pictured above. It also has "VCT" or variable cam timing to optimize the power band. Your engine (as well as mine ['16]) uses port injection. When Ford released the revised version for 2018, direct injection was added (among other things).
