You may know this, but did you see the video where Ford stated they have been doing this since the 40's ? I think it was TFLT who made a comment to a product manager that they copied Toyota. He then set the facts straight.

Ok...we'll blame Ford for that awful look instead of Toyota.

Don't know about the 17's looking "outdated". I'd say 15-17 is a much more timeless look than the next 2018-2020 run off hand, but that's a subjective assessment. I also may be biased since I just bought a 17 too.
While some variations of the 18 will definitely look good (sport grill, prob raptor, bronco etc), I think Ford blending in the superduty front end styling was a mistake. The new superduty front end is just too big and blocky. I really haven't cared much for the superduty front ends for a while now anyway.

Chevy did a good job on their styling on this last production run and kinda stuck with their roots looks wise. But I have despised chevy since 2008 because they never sent me a thank you, or a "free" anything after they took my money.

Dodge did this with the charger front ends on every car they sold until the look became monotonous. Now the current ram looks horrendous as if the dodge "ram" has lost its way.
I also think with auto sales slumping/trending lower for the big 3, this mid year style flip could actually hurt Ford more than anything. It's just too early to cut the 15-17 lineup short IMHO.

I like how they cut out the grill to the bumper, gives it a lowered look also looks like trying to catch as much air as possible when the shutters pop open.

I've seen a few on the road and they look nice. Nothing wrong with the new style from my perspective.

I like the new look, both ends. The F150's have been too dainty looking since the late 90's. The new front end looks tougher which the F150 has needed. Hopefully the led taillights can be seen better from behind in the rain. My truck disappears in the Florida thunderstorms.

Am I going to rush out and buy one? Nope, I'll put up with my 2016 for a while longer. I'm having too much fun tooling around in my Jeep to burn more cash on a new truck.

At the dealership with kids (7 & 9) today. Saw the new 2018 Lariat. Kids' comment was "that truck has a fat mustache." O, well.

I'm not a fan of the new front end. I was holding out to get an 18 based on the new body, but when I saw the pics I decided against it. Then I though, what the hell...if I'm not getting the newest model year I may as well buy used. So I saved $20k and about a 2015 with 25k miles.

Put the step on Instead of F150 stamped on the tail gate is my thought. The F150 stamp is rediculous is my immediate reaction when seeing it.
Make the black ford logo of higher quality instead !

I have looked at a few 2018's and like the style. I like how the STX and Special sports have different grills.
