Assuming "Pre-production" vehicles....
Are these like some limited run that they give out to people to test or something or are all these people Ford employees?
And what happens to them later, cause obviously they aren't real 2018 vehicles? Do they scrap them?
Production on those starts on Monday the 17th in Dearborn.

I think there are going to be a lot of people buying that SE grill from Ford parts after they get their new '18 and installing it instead of the two bar versions.
It's got a cleaner and more aggressive look to it than the bars (all versions). I've ordered a new Raptor and even I like the look of that SE grill better than the Raptor version with the huge FORD block letters in the middle.
To be specific the grill versions without the bars (like the pics above) are standard on the XL with STX pkg (61S), XLT SE pkg (61X), and finally the Lariat SE pkg (61L).
Of course that means you also get the funky hockey stick graphics as well!

My fav is the 2015-2017 look. I would have never bought an F-150 before the new look. Wasn't even considered. The 2018 tailgate is ok, but the giant font trend on all the trucks looks juvenile in my opinion and screams "LOOK AT ME!". But I would take it if I had to. I just don't like anything on the tailgate. Been putting off removing the badges on mine for years now...
Tail lights were better before but are ok. The grill wouldn't bother me as much if the headlights didn't have those unnecessary and pointless stretched out parts towards the center.

I hate the chrome grill, looks like they tried to make a bolder statement like the 250s but with the truck being smaller throws the portions off. The grill with the inlets look really good.

Everyone that doesn't like the look of the '18 will say they love it when they see the new '18 chevvy.

I ordered a 2018 Lariat Super Cab in Ruby Red with the Sport Appearance Package. If it looks like this photo (granted it's a super crew) from the front of the 2018 Appearance Guide, I'll be more than happy!

18 front ends look nice and like most refreshes will grow on those that don't like it now. Not to mention the other 18 upgrades you'll appreciate every day:
1. 10 speed + new powertrain options
2. B&O play audio system
3. Adaptive Cruise adds stop & go function
4. LED foglamps (Lariat up)
5. Heated wiper park (Lariat up)
6. Pre-collision assist & pedestrian detection
etc...,
