I had a 14 and a 16, cant say they are all that much different now (19's excluded). I'll never own another. The F-150 is a much better built truck.

My 10 speed is very smooth, no hunting issues even when hauling, but I do drive a bit like a granny.

The best part about my F-150 is that is goes every time I press the pedal, cant say that for either of my Rams

We have trucks from Ford, Ram and Chevy and work and the Fords and Rams do hold up better. The Chevys turn in to rattle traps as they get old. Powertrain wise they're all pretty equal. But out of all three the Fords hold up the best. We have a 2001 Excursion and I rode in it a few weeks ago and was impressed how the shifter still has the solid clunk, clunk as you go through the gears. The HVAC ***** still have a strong detent at all the positions. The interior still fells solid even at 17 years old. The Rams are OK but the controls feel more worn out. You have to look at the indicator to see what mode you selected on the HVAC since you can't feel when the **** is in position. It still works fine but feels worn out. The Chevys run strong but the interior is garbage at an old age. Everything creaks and rattles, the icons wear off to the white plastic on the buttons and quite a few have a cracked dash. One of the Suburbans I was driving had the lighting control switch literally break off and fall in the dash.

One of the reasons I got a Ford was the experience with the trucks at work.

Shhhh don't let my totally rattle free (interior and chassis) 12+ year old Silverado 2500HD know this. Wide paintbrushes often paint the wrong picture (fyi I am brand agnostic, going for best bang/buck/quality history ratio at shopping time).

Well I suggest you call the Guinness book of world records because you have the first GM product that is totally rattle free. Also, do you even own a Ford truck?

The electronics have always been a problem and don't last. Thats why i didn't look at the new rams when i bought my 150. fca has a reputation with making cheap vehicles and i would never trust them. look at the crash test for the previous gen ram. they crumbled like tin cans. my dad recently bought a ram 2500 gas burner for 40k. a comparably equipped 250 is 50k. you pay for what you get.
F150 is my first private Ford vehicle and I'm not sure it's not the last. Had multiple FCA vehicles, my ride before F150 was the notorious Dodge Journey, but I enjoyed it a lot and still miss it. I had zero issues with it and their infotainment system was the best not only in class but one of the best overall. I've never had any recalls or issues with Journey, while F150 failed the throttle body 2 weeks after purchase, multiple safety recalls, and other smaller issues.

FCA limits the engine mod opportunities - still a mister for me why. And they depreciate faster than other brands, but IMO their quality improved significantly after being under Benz management for several years.

Well that is how you see it. My 13 plat was very well built and nice, just thinking you had a couple bad ones cause my 18 longhorn is very well built. Comparing it to my son in laws 15 150 and the three I drove this spring there is really no difference. price advantage goes to ram. Whatever your beef is got to the ram forums and they will tell you how bad the f 150s are. I wanted to go back to an f 150 this spring cause I like the looks of the 18's but after driving realized the ram was the way to go for now. That is how I see it, and every time I press the pedal my hemi really goes.

Folks really need to wait and see. The previous generation Ram was engineered and built under Mercedes ownership of Chrysler, this new one is a Fiat. As I said in another post FCAs most popular products were developed and introduced under Mercedes rule, Charger, Challenger, Grand Cherokee, Durango, Ram and the HEMI V8. Even Chrysler's Pentastar V6 is a American designed engine built to Mercedes specifications and with a few changes is called the Mercedes M276 engine. Honestly Mercedes was the best thing to happen to Chrysler and they really improved their product lineup and quality.

Fiat really hasn't contributed anything. The best brand Fiat has is Ferrari and they purposely separated Ferrari from FCA. Shows how much Fiat cares about Chrysler. They aren't going to share any technology from Ferrari, their flagship, with their American branch. Whereas Mercedes authorized the Chrysler engineers to design a V6 engine for Chrysler but make it to Mercedes specs so it's basic architecture is good enough for the Mercedes lineup (one of the most popular engines BTW) and uses it worldwide. Then mated it to one of the best transmissions available, the ZF 8-speed. What has Fiat done; other than replacing the 4 cylinders with Fiat 4 cylinder engines, nothing.

If they refused the repair based on what you've said and pushed the issue, you could of owned that dealership.

This is the exact reason i let the dealership change oil for all my new vehicles still under warranty. Hassle free!
Having said that, i still save those oil change receipts....just in case. lol
I had a different dealer do the oil change but it was done. It was the FCA zone manager who wanted the receipt.

I looked at a 2019 Ram outside my local Costco the other day. I have to say it’s one ugly truck, not a fan at all. Not sure which 2019 looks worse, the Silverado or Ram.
