Is anyone else experience what looks like micro rust spots in their paint? I live in NE. I have had the truck for a year this June. I noticed yesterday when i was hosing it down that there are like micro spots of what looks like rust on the tailgate mostly, but some other areas too. does anyone know what this is?
Picutres added below. Not sure if you are able to see the orange spots. two are on back face of the tailgate and one is up on the front drivers quarter panel

2 buckets (one for soap one for rinse), couple synthetic wash mitts, a decent car wash soap (not dish soap) Absorber XL synthetic chamois (I'll never go back to towels after using these).
Can get crazy and get a foam cannon attachment for your pressure washer if you want though not needed.
Wash your wheels, tires and running boards separate, before or after paint. Use a different wash mitt and wash waster for those. Helps to minimize scratching.
For wax, I use Collinite 845 over a polish. Stuff works amazing and finish lasts quite a while.
Hopefully it is deposits on top of the clear coat but I have also seen foreign matter actually in the color coat which there will be no easy way to fix.
You don't need any fancy equipment to keep up a great looking finish on a vehicle, just a little knowledge.
Foam Cannons are over rated for the most part. They will clean areas that are otherwise difficult to clean such as the underside of the vehicle and wheel wells. But for most people who want a nice clean vehicle a couple of buckets, wash mitts, and car wash soap (not dish soap, that's a no no). A good chamois or drying cloth is great to have to dry the vehicle to prevent water spotting. I have also used a powered leaf blower to blow the water off of a vehicle, it works well but will need to be followed up with a towel/chamois for those little rolling drips of rinse water.
The small specs of rust that you see are most likely rail dust that has adhered to the paints finish, not actual rust of your truck. Proper use of a clay bar and lubricant will remove the rail dust as well as a bunch of other particles that you can't see with your naked eye, but can feel by lightly sliding your hand over the clean surface of the paint.
Google/YouTube how to use a clay bar and remember to only go in right to left or up and down strokes of the clay bar...NO CIRCULAR MOTIONS. And be sue to use plenty of the spray lubricant with the clay bar. Also use clean microfiber cloths to remove the haze from the clay bar and lightly buff afterwards. You should be able to do a complete clay bar treatment on your truck in a couple of hours. Now if you glide your hand over the clay barred finish of the paint it will be slick as snot on a door ****.
Then apply the protectant finish of your choosing. I like the Garage Guys Hybrid Wax Sealant. You simply spray it on, a little goes a long way, then spread it out using a clean microfiber cloth, allow to haze over, wipe off the haze and bull to a bright protected finish using another clean microfiber cloth.
Do not attempt to clay bar and or apply a wax finish product in the sun's heat. You don't want the paint to be hot or things will go bad real quick.

VERY important points here. Additionally if you drop the clay on the ground throw it out and get a new piece. Do not reuse.
