So, again I ask...what type of wire should be used here? Gauge? Solid Core? Stranded? I assume it's solid core, so round or flat?

Thanks!
I used small gauge stranded wire... Just twisted the ends and placed it in... With regards to gauge I don't know what it was but it was basically the same size as the other wires

Thank you for the direct answer.

Clearly it's important to get the wire perfect or else your truck might explode!

I'm not really the YouTube type lol, but maybe some other enterprising individual would be able to do that.

My truck is 1 month old this weekend. I haven't the heart to be messing with wires on her just yet. Funny thing is, if you knew me, I'm the type that is always taking things apart. Every F150 I have owned I installed a home made power locking tailgate for $10 in parts.

Back to the topic here, I am wondering, have you tried other functions such as driving with the front camera on or address entry on the nav with this mod in place?

Guessing the radio has a similar wire from the BCM, but it may be done over CAN too.

Unfortunately, the radio is controlled over the CAN bus along with utilizing the GPS. That's why the $429 lockpick is needed for that

Unfortunately the lockpick won't work on the 360 camera system.
If the OP idea worked, that would have been awesome. $0 hack

Don't say that...someone will come out of the woodwork and swear this truck doesn't have a CAN bus!
