Default RoughCountry lift on FX4

Has anyone installed this kit on a FX4?
https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-su...kit-54520.html

It states in the "notes":
  • This kit does NOT work on models with stock ride height over 22in. [measured from center of wheel to middle of fender. example]
  • Trucks with FX4, Snow Prep, and other off-road packages that modify front strut assemblies will likely measure over 22in and will not work with this kit.
I have a FX4 and my measurement is 21.5"

Thoughts?

It looks like this kit replace the previous version, which I have. The previous kit was less $ but it did not include front struts, instead, you reuse the oem struts and springs and replace the top hat of the oem setup with spacers in the kit. This kit gives you a lifted strut ready to bolt in, which eliminates having the use a spring compressor on the oem setup. I wish this would have been available last year when I did my kit, but it wasn’t. In fact, it looks like they combined all the reviews from the previous 3” lift with this one. I mean, it’s a new setup but it goes back over a year...so that tells you they rolled it all in. I am curious why they did this, hope it wasn’t because there was an issue with the previous kit (several guys on here have it including me with zero issues). Perhaps it’s because the SST 3.5” was the closest competitor and is the same price as this kit WITH lifted struts. Seems like a no brainer to go with this kit. As for height, I have an FX4 and was right arround 21.50” before their kit.

how's your ride with the 3" of lift?
I am looking at the boss 0-3" kit and it comes out of the box at 2.75". most reviews say it rides a little rough at that height and one guy even went as far to say that its better riding at 2.25"...which to be honest is fine with me from a leveling standpoint to clear 33" tires and not need too big of a rear block for that near-level stance.

The ride is fine...only noticed a slight change in stiffness when I put the lift on, I still had the oem tires and wheels....but then I put on the 33” 10-ply’s and that changed it quite a bit....much more than the lift. I have no complaints honestly. I can’t comment on the Boss lift as I’ve never been in a truck with them. But again, the tires will make as big of a difference, if not more so, than the lift. I went with the 3” because the last truck I had was a 2017 2wd F150 (2wd are ~1” lower) and I had a 4” kit in that and wanted the same look.
