Default Ronin Oil Drain Plug

I know several on this forum purchased and were installing the Ronin Oil Drain Plug. Have any of you installed the plug? Thoughts?

Thanks

I installed mine a couple of weeks ago when I changed my oil. Easy to install, hope it makes oil changes easier in the future for sure. I like to catch a sample for testing every once in a while so being able to control the flow should be nice...

I installed mine a couple weeks ago as well, but haven't had a chance to do an oil change with it yet.

It's a VERY nice piece, all aluminum, even the drain insert you screw in to drain the oil.

Piece of cake to install, no more difficult than installing the OEM drain plug.

This is the first time I'm actually excited to do an oil change on this truck.

I'm planning to video the next oil change, and will post it up once I do.

I think I've gone through $80 worth of paper towel and tarps just cleaning up after regular oil changes, lol

If there's ever a ":mess" when I change the oil it comes from the oil filter, not the drain plug but then I'm fortunate to be able to take it to my buds shop and put it on his lift.

I got one but haven't installed it yet. I still can't believe I paid $80 for a drain plug.

Yeah, and firing up the pressure washer to get the spots off the driveway.

I've found the truck has to be on ramps, and use a shop towel or paper towel to 'block' the forward drain on the little pan for the oil filter. That forces it all down the rear spout and easy to catch. Frankly I think the placement sucks but the little pan feature is quite excellent.

I would be concerned with not being able to drain as much oil as the OEM plug allows (due to the wall thickness of the Ronin Plug).
