Split, ripped its still broke. I thought about the fact they might try and weld it but dollars to donuts that pillar is filled with foam insulation. I am gonna try and get into the dealer this week and see what they say.
There is no foam in there. Only other option is to replace the whole DOP and that means a lot of disassembly, which you hoped to avoid.
I'll keep you guys posted as to what the out come is. I am not concerned that I got a lemon and to be completely honest if they want to disassemble half the truck to fix it I will just live with it.
If they don't help you with that I would post that photo on as many forums and places I could. Spread the word on that garbage aluminum crap. Ford should be embarrassed. Funny how the Ford CS never replies to these types of post. Then again maybe these guys should be watching for things like this rather than playing chess in a production factory.
You have obliviously never worked on any kind of production line...
Ford won't compensate you. They will fix it if you let them. If you don't want it repaired, it should at least be sealed up to prevent water intrusion.
