Rims and Tires no level, no lift
I've been thinking of getting a set of winter rims and tires, and when I asked at the dealer, was told not to go with the original size (275 55 20) but to look at 17" or 18" rims and tires( due to cost). So I have a couple of concerns 1) will I have to have the speedo re-calibrated?? and 2) I have no idea what tire size would look good on the truck.... don't want any rubbing etc. I was thinking of BFG K02 s but I may just go with a dedicated winter tire for snow and ice.....will be mostly highway driving. The truck is a 2016 F150 screw fx4 . Anyone else doing this?
thanks

Rim size is irrelevant. Look at diameter of tire.
Thinner tires are better in snow. And if its for snow travel isnt practicality paramount v shiny bling wheels?

many recommend a tire with a taller sidewall for winter driving at it fares better in potholes, etc, but I am not sure it matters too much for truck sized tire/wheel combos.
Keeping the same overall diameter will keep your speedo accurate. Use a tire size calculator to get a close estimate.
A narrower tread width is said to work better in snow, as it supposedly cuts through for traction. tirerack.com does pretty scientific winter tire tests, take a look there for info.
