Default REWARD! For Information Leading to....

...the arrest of the dreaded "double horn honk" gang!

I will personally put up a $100 REWARD to the first person who can provide info/instructions on how to shut that **** off!!!!

The offending double honk strikes when either the drivers OR passengers door is closed and results in a brown stain in the surrounding neighbors drawers (permanent stain if offended before dawn).

Dead or Alive, this has to end now!!

i8iridium where are You, paging i8iridium.
Was successful in finding wires to eliminate fake engine sound, and found wires that limit the mirror puddle lights at speeds above 5MPH.
If anyone can do it ......

I'm afraid that one is deep down in the computer somewhere. I wish I had money to throw away on a Rotunda.

Agreed it is probably programming within the BCM. It is not a programmable item in IDS. Two possibilities, either its within the software or its in the build data. Software isn't going to be modified, ABD could be but without documentation as far as ABD mapping (which ford would never release) it isn't feasible to play with at this point.

That's not a bad idea, but then couldn't someone walk up, touch the door, and unlock it if I left it in there?

I know my wife has done that, I locked it with my fob, but she left her purse on the passenger side, she touched the door (I'm ~100ft away) and it unlocked. Without me unlocking it and the fob in MY pocket. My spare fob is in her purse.

Thinking out loud...

A relay added inline with the horn wired to the seat belt sensor. If your seat belt isn't buckled, you're not in the seat. Therefore, the horn won't honk when you leave the vehicle with the key in your pocket.

Seems like a complicated solution to a minor problem...

That is interesting, we tried this same idea at the dealer. Left the key on the drivers seat that the truck doesn't lock or unlock.
