Had the same thing happen to me this morning. It was 72 degrees here yesterday
with heavy thunderstorms and dropped to 18 degrees this morning. Put it in reverse
and chimes on constant with truck outlined in red, guess once it thaws it will be ok.

This can happen even when a thin layer of frost or ice is on the sensor lense itself. It is an inconvenience but not a malfunction. I have had multiple trucks and my wife has had multiple Escapes that do the same thing in the winter.
I use my lawn/leaf blower in the winter after I wash my truck to blow it off. In some cases I have used a hair dryer if my truck was out overnight (it's normally in the garage).

Had my car washed the other day, in Ohio too and then it got cold. Woke up, went to go to work and backed up and my left rear alarm was yellow and didn't stop until I just shut the notification off. Went to work, truck sat out in a little sun and it fixed it. I had this happen once in the summer as well and I think it all comes down to a little moisture getting in or around the sensor and until it dries out.......

I have the same problem sometimes with just a little rain. Temps were always above 65.
I think its a bad sensor because its not sealed.

Truck thawed out in the garage overnight, backed the truck out to do some work in the garage and then apparently has refrozen. Instead of all the sensors going off, it shows the passenger rear. I have checked it and there is absolutely nothing on any of the sensors. I am guessing there must be some moisture inside that I am not able to get out.

I've had it happen on mine, too. Like most others, it was the left side. Must be more than a coincidence that is seems to be the same one for the majority of people.

Mine has done the same thing. I soaked them all with Silicone spray front and behind bumper. We just had a weekend of rain and a drop to 10* where everything turned to ice. No more problem.
