Return to stock during oil change?
Letting Ford do my oil change tomorrow (I normally do this myself). 2018 F150 5.0, 17,300 miles. Got to thinking this evening about my 5-Star tune (currently 89 Oct. perf/tow), and the warranty issues. So I'm wondering since this is just a simple oil change appointment, will they just change oil and be done with it, or do they plug it in for any reason? If they do plug it in, will the tune be visible? Not sure whether I need to return to stock for this appointment, or if they will never know anyway.

My guess would be, they want it in and out as fast as possible to get to the next vehicle. No reason for them to plug it into anything, drain oil, change filter, fill oil, and done!

My dealer's Quick Lube lane is in a different building than service so no way to plug it in during oil change.

All they do is change the oil and a quick visual inspection of your tires, brakes, belts, hoses, etc.

I would not worry about it--any tune you put in there is permanently store in the computer that even if you return t to stock there will be a record of it. So simply returning it to stock will not eliminate the record that the stock programming was modified. What is done is done.

Why would it be necessary to remove the tune for warranty issues?

With all 2018 models having Start / Stop does the dealer still do the "Fast" oil change? Doesn't it take awhile for the oil to drain down, especially if the engine is not near operating temperature. Just wondering.
