Retrofit Power Fold Tow Mirrors to XLT
#761
Here is what my F-150 looks like with 2017 Superduty tow mirrors with color matched caps. The superduty mirrors are identical in function but you will notice the arm covers are narrower and the front case doesn't bulge out to accommodate for the wider arm covers.

sweet! this is the first time i have seen a 150 with the 250 mirriors, are all 250 mirrors 22 pin? or do they come in 8 as well? do they all have spot&puddle?

cool, nice truck. got any closer pics of your SD mirrors? thx

They are all 22 pin. All powerfold versions have spot and puddle light. All manual fold versions do not have puddle light, and about half the manual fold versions do not have spot light. They still have the turn signal and marker light but no spot light inside that lighting module. I will note that the superduty trucks do not have EC (Dimming glass) So you will lose that feature with off the shelf mirrors. I used a wire harness from the F-150 tow mirrors and the dimming glass so my (superduty) mirrors actually do have EC still on the drivers side.

I realize the original intent of this thread was for tow mirrors so my audience is rather small but here goes:
i am installing pedestal mirrors and after watching several videos and reading instructions on how to remove the cap for painting, I absolutely could not get them off without breaking the innermost clip. There was zero give in the mirror housing. For those of you who swapped to pedestal mirrors that weren't painted already, were you able to remove them successfully? And do you all think it will effect the ability of the caps to stay on without vibrating or otherwise not looking right?
Thanks
Rich

It should be fine. The scalp is a service item. Worst case you can buy a new one. Prob about $40-50 bucks is a guess.

Any issues with installing wiring harnesses and door modules and leaving the non power mirrors installed temporarily?
I'm attempting to JB Weld the broken tabs back on (why not, right? It can't hurt) and it needs 24 hours to cure out. Since today was the day I'd set aside to do my door speakers and mirrors, I'd like to salvage as much of the day as possible.
