Just keep in mind the Lariat door harness have 2 connectors you won't use on the XLT: ambient lighting and the door handle switch. Other than swapping the appropriate 4 wires to the XLT door lock switch, the installation is fairly straight forward.

The two connectors I'm referring to are the small ones at the end of the harness. Those were tricky to reach, and you can't see them so you have to feel around lol. I did tuck away the unused connectors on the new harness. It's also a good idea to check them before closing it all up. Later that evening I discovered that I forgot to plug in the speaker in the drivers door. So next day I was opening it back up again.

For those that might be curious of the mpg penalty for tow mirrors... This was a highway run with cruise control set at 58 mph, same stretch of highway round trip with mirrors in and mirrors out. On this day and at this speed I saw a 0.6 mpg difference.

If I buy all the harness parts to change my 8 pin connector to 22 pin would I then be able to install the 22pin syppo mirrors? Maybe this is my only recourse if I want the LED running light on my mirrors if forscan can't do it?

Look at this mirror from 1AAUTO, Retrofit 8 pin mirrors. It has everything except power extend/retract and memory.

I just bought their $403.95 version since I already had the 22 pin connector.

Well having the extra connects in the doors made it nice when I added ambient liighting to my XLT. Now in the process using the door connectors to add passive entry/ push button start.

Where are you with adding push button start?

Finshing up the wire harness for the push button to the BCM, wired in the two interior antennas already. Need to do the door handles for the other two antennas. Compiling all the code changes for the second BCM, RTM that has matching passive keys. And seeing about doing a perimeter reset on the PCM.

After installing the new door modules, I am getting the following DTC in both driver and pass modules. I've tried resetting the modules in FORScan but they don't clear. Anyone come across this after doing this mod?
